Marinfloc Training Courses

The Marinfloc Training Courses focus on cleaning of bilge water, sludge handling and rules and regulations governing the waste water handling onboard ships of today. Marpol MEPC60(33) and MEPC 107(49) are discussed together with different national rules. 

The two-day course consists of two theory sessions where we discuss the regulations, tank structures, equipment design and a variety of issues concerning bilge water and sludge. Each theory pass is followed by practical exercises. In our laboratory, where we go through different components that can be found on the units, such as oil content meters, dosage pumps, oil sensors etc. We also have exercises in flocculation technique and all the different parameters in water chemistry that affects bilge water treatment. In our miniature engine room we have both of our bilge water separator models (TD- and CD-model), a Sludge dewatering and the Whitebox System. All of the equipments are installed as onboard a ship with double bottom tanks and settling tanks with heating coils to get as close to real conditions as possible. 

Training Courses at Varekil, Sweden, 2013

Included in the course fee is the literature, lessons and meals during the two days. Hotel and transports to and from the training centre in Varekil can be ordered as an option.  After the last day of the training course, we will drive the attendances to Stenungsund, Gothenburg Central Train station and/or Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
