The Stena Saga has been upgraded with a Marinfloc advanced black and grey water treatment system meeting the Baltic Sea standards. All system components was delivered on a truck with crane and lifted onboard in Uddevalla where the equipment was installed, only 30 minutes from the office. The vessel large sewage holding tank that was split to also contain the anaerobic part of the bioreactor. Two Evac vacuum tanks were converted to the aerobic stage of the bioreactor and filled with moving bed bio carriers. Grey water transfer tanks were also installed on car deck to feed the inlet tank with grey water for treatment. The ASTS treatment unit had to be completely dissembled, carried down and re-erected in the sewage room. The Floc tank had to be welded on site as the outer diameter of the tank could not fit through the water tight doors. The vessel was also equipped with a Marinfloc 5 PPM CD2 bilge water separator. We want to thank Stena Line for the confidence and the crew for all assistance and good spirit during the entire project.
