The clean excess rain water gathered on drill decks are a huge problem that causes capacity problems for separators but also for holding tanks capacity. Most of the rain water is normally clean and will have no need to be cleaned thru a separator.

The dRain unit is designed to test the water for hydro carbon residues like oil and to decide if the water is cleaned and thereafter diverted overboard or not clean and then diverted to holding tanks for further cleaning. The system is using a state of the art sensor setup with fluorescent laser that will detect hydro carbons even if the water is contaminated with mud or solids. The system is connected to the pipe and has a response time in less than a second. Other applications for the dRain unit is FPSO, Production rigs, etc.
